This is a Class 3 article.

Archer was a Clone trooper captain in the Grand Army of the Republic and primarily served within in the Republic Navy.

History

Archer was born in 32 BBY on the planet of Kamino, like all clones. He received ARC trooper training from Alpha-17 before becoming a captain.[3] Upon graduating from the ARC program, the trooper became the leader of a squadron and began serving in the Republic Navy.

Soon after the Battle of Coruscant, during the Clone Wars, Archer and his squadron were called to action by the mysterious assistant director of the Republic's Senate Bureau of Intelligence. The assignment was to pursue the freighter known as Stellar Envoy. The ship had been reported to have clearance codes the pilots should not have had.[4] The squadron consisted of seven ARC-170s and V-Wing starfighters. Armand Isard, the director of the SBI, gave Archer and his squadron clearance to destroy or disable the ship.[4] However, while in pursuit, the ship merged with civilian traffic that was attempting to depart from the planet. The squadron were forced to hold their fire and silently and swiftly pursue the ship. When the Envoy reached upper atmosphere, the Open Circle and Coruscant Home Defense Fleets marked the ship as a target and were able to catch in a tractor beam. Archer's squadron had actually hit the vessel, before being caught in the beam. Somehow, the ship was still able to escape, by jumping the hyperspace.[4]

Other

  • In the book it was never confirmed if Archer was a clone or non-clone officer. The book, however, stated that all the pilots chasing the Stellar Envoy were clones. Therefore, he is treated as such.
  • Although not much is known about the trooper, a majority of the captains, commanders, and other high ranking officers were trained by Alpha-17. Therefore, it is assumed that he trained in the ARC program.

Appearances

  • Millenium Falcon
