Clone flame troopers were variants of clone troopers that fought in the Grand Army of the Republic during the Clone Wars. They were famously utilized by Jedi General Ki-Adi-Mundi in the Second Battle of Geonosis. They were trained against the natural human instinct to avoid fire.

History[]

During the Second Battle of Geonosis, Jedi General Ki-Adi-Mundi used a unit, a sub-unit within the unit of Commander Jet's Unit, of clone flame troopers to aid in their assault of Geonosis. He chose them because their special equipment worked well to exterminate the inhabitants of the area, Geonosians. To arrive, they rode gunships to a landing zone. Unfortunately, they got shot down, and traveled the rest of the way on foot. To get there, they traveled through caves infested with Geonosians. That proved difficult, so their Jedi General ordered the flame troopers to the front lines, and they burned the rest of the Geonosians.

Armor and Equipment[]

Clone flame troopers used different armor because of their special weapons. Called BT X-42 heavy Republic flamethrowers, they were flamethrowers that worked well killing live enemies, as flesh caught on fire easily. Their armor was orange and yellow colored and it was padded to stop the extreme heat from injuring the clone's body. Some troopers had packs on their backs. This armor was identical in appearance to that of clone cold assault troopers.
