A notable ARC trooper unit, Rancor Battalion was led by Commander Colt on Kamino. They participated in the Third Battle of Kamino, but unfortunately, most of them died. There were only five troopers known that were in the battalion, but there were obviously more. Rancor Battalion was most likely named for the strength rancors have, as they put much power, strength, and energy in their work.

Rancor Battalion is thought to be a strong and exemplary unit because it was commanded by only ARC troopers with no Jedi to assist them.

History[]

In 22 BBY, three commanders of Rancor Battalion were seen at the training facility when some clone cadets graduated. During that time, Commander Colt gave a speech. They watched as the cadets battled in training during the Citadel training course.

Later in that year, Rancor Battalion led the defense of Kamino against Separatist leaders Asajj Ventress and General Grievous, along with their forces. A large unit, Rancor Battalion had many commanders who led them, and they spread out all over the facilities to hold back droids. Many of the ARC troopers died defending their home, and the real intent of the attack was to steal the precious clone DNA, which would have prevented the Kaminoans from creating more clones.
