- "We are tracking clean. Calculating hyperspace jump in five, four—"
"Oh, wait, wait. Scanners indicate incoming craft. Abort jump!" - ―This pilot tells a comrade to abort a jump to hyperspace.
This unidentified pilot was a trooper who was a copilot for a Nu-class medical shuttle in 20 BBY.[3] However, a convoy that he was part of came under attack by an HMP droid gunship, and he was killed as buzz droids destroyed his cockpit.[2]
History
In 20 BBY, the Republic were engaged with the Confederacy of Independent systems in a full-scale conflict for the planet Ringo Vinda. In the middle of the battle, a clone trooper from the 501st Legion named Tup shot his Jedi general in the head. He was taken back to base, where he was questioned for his actions, but he seemed not to understand. The troopers with him decided that he needed to be transported to Kamino for a full examination.[2]
Tup was carried to a Nu-class medical shuttle with several guards. They left the Republic armada to head for Kamino. However, as the ship's pilot was about to make the jump to hyperspace, this trooper, his copilot, warned him that a ship was approaching, and they aborted the jump. The ship turned out to be a Separatist HMP, and it launched several missiles, destroying two of the four ARC-170 escorts for the medical shuttle. However, the shuttle itself was soon hit, and it was left defenseless as super battle droids with rocket packs picked off the pilots of the two remaining starfighters.[2]
The HMP droid gunship launched a buzz droids missile, and buzz droids clung onto the cockpit. Although this trooper and his pilot struggled for control, a buzz droid drilled a hole in the windshield, and the vacuum of space sucked the them both out. The battle droids would proceed to attack the shuttle.[2]
Armor and Equipment
This unidentified trooper wore Phase II armor which was painted with gray stripes. He had a life support pack and wore a fully-enclosed helmet. It had gray markings across the visor area, and the top was yellow with a single red stripe.[2]
